The tour des barrages

The lakes of the Eau d’Heure dams are surrounded by a RAVEL accessible both on foot and by bike.

The national forest and the RAVEL of line 109

The Rance state forest is crossed by the RAVEL of line 109 which connects Beaumont to Chimay.

This national forest is filled with trails allowing to multiply the routes. All information can be found on the commune of Rance.

Nautical activities

Swimming

Swimming areas are set up on the Plate-Taille lake (Golden Lakes) and the Falemprise lake (Falemprise Relay).

Sails and sailboard

The Plate-Taille lake is reserved for sailing sports. You can practice all forms of sails there (dinghies, sailboards, kyte surfing, …) or slow navigation (kayak, canoe, paddle, …).

Launching can be done at:

• Ciernau ADEPS center
• Eau d’Heure Lakes Sailing Club
• on the Golden Lakes site

Rentals are possible at Espace Fun.

Underwater diving

Two areas of the Plate-Taille lake are reserved for underwater diving:

• An area A limited to 30 meters.
• A zone B on the old bed of Eau d’Heure more than 40 meters away.

The Centre de Plongée des Barrages de l’Eau d’Heure manages both sites. Site B is only accessible by boat from Site A.

In addition to the Plate-Taille lake, nearby quarries also allow diving:

• at the la Croisette,
• at the Rochefontaine
• and at the Vodelée.

Jet-skis, Motor boats and Water skiing

The Eau d’Heure lake is reserved for water motor sports.

One can therefore practice water skiing, jetski, ….

The club Jetski-O2R offers you the rental of Jetski.

The [Eau d’Heure Nautiques] club (https://www.ehn.be/) allows you to practice water skiing.

Recreational activities

Natura Park

The Natura Parc is an adventure playground for young and old.

Fishing

Upon payment of a fishing permit, fishing is possible on certain sections of the Hantes and on some around lakes of the Eau d’Heure.

Lakes and forests

Entre Sambre and Meuse National Park

The cottage is located near Parc National de l’Entre Sambre et Meuse. The interest of this park is to group three quite different ecosystems:

• La Fagne, i.e. a beech forest on wet ground (here clay).
• La Calestienne, a limestone geological strip with associated vegetation.
• The Ardennes forest

More than 1300 hectares are left in free evolution, i.e. without any human intervention.

Aquascope of Virelles

L’aquascope de Virelles is 12 km from the holiday home. You will be able to discover many species of water-related birds on migration or not.
